Good question.
In a word, yes. As a general rule, I enjoy reading about the trials and tribulations of dukes and duchesses, kings and queens as much as the next person. Part of this interest may stem from the fact that I haven’t truly grown out of my childhood fantasy of becoming a princess. Or maybe it’s that, as an American, I’m intrigued by this facet of social life across the pond that doesn’t exist here.
Whatever the reason may be, my fascination has reached obsession-like heights with the engagement of Prince William to Kate Middleton.
While HRH’s have had some stellar fashion moments in the past (Princess Di being the most obvious example), I would venture to say that Middleton will be one of the most stylish royals we have seen in a long time. Not only does she have the looks and the figure to look great in just about anything, she has an effortless personal style that is difficult to perfect. Whether she is out around town or at an official function, Middleton sticks to clean and classic cuts with minimal frills. Also a fan of opaque tights and knee-high suede boots, her outfits are as functional and comfortable as they are chic. She looks like a woman whose got everything under control and still has time to ponder what to wear in the morning (the kind of woman I aspire to be). I hope to see more effortless style from her as she plans what will be the wedding of the decade.
