I know it’s supposedly the dead of winter. But every time there’s another fifty-degree day or a gaggle of Northwestern students crossing Sheridan Road in sweatshirts, I can’t help but think that the groundhog will see his shadow tomorrow.
Another reason to pray Punxsutawney Phil sees that shadow? Gap’s new line of sunshine-infused rain boots, perfect for the upcoming spring. I’m in love with their clean colors – despite being monotone, they remind me of fields of warmed daisies and days spent lazing with friends at the lakefill. They’re like happy pills, only in boot form.
My personal favorite is the “praslin green” shade, which promises to splash away rainy day blues. The pink and orange are also fun, standout colors for those who aren’t up to making as bold of a statement. Even the navy, a typically safe choice, isn’t plain, deemed instead a spirited “galaxy blue.” Extra details of a miniature buckle and three small adornments give even more character to these joyful boots. I’ll certainly be “springing” for a pair.
