Top 5 Spring Beauty Products

I cannot even begin to express my happiness with spring weather. Not only can I finally put my Canada Goose away and take out my boyfriend jeans, but it is also the time to switch over my beauty products. As all of us know too well, in November our inboxes and news feeds fill with countless articles telling us which products to buy this winter, from staples such as thicker moisturizers to the beloved Essie nail color Wicked. As much as I love my staple winter products, it is time to transition into spring with lighter and brighter products.

Here are some of my go-to beauty products to lighten up your makeup bag.

1) Glossier Haloscope

Since the introduction of its skin tints, Glossier has gained a cult following. Anyone who uses Glossier products cannot help but rave about Haloscope, the perfect face highlighter. Unlike other highlighters, Haloscope has an added moisture element, which not only adds a skin care function to your highlighter, but also gives you the perfect dewy look.

2) Dior Addict Lip Glow

Time to put away the dark lipsticks and take out the lip glosses. Dior Addict Lip Glow is the perfect lip gloss for the spring. As the perfect remedy to dry winter skin, Dior emphasizes moisturizing by adding in the Dior Hydra Life BB Cream SPF 30 as the main ingredient. This lip gloss is perfect to transition away from constant Aquaphor applications, to a dewier and lighter lip color. With a diverse group of four shades, there will definitely be one for you.

3) Jo Malone Sakura Cherry Blossom

An upgrade from the Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance, this Jo Malone perfume becomes the perfect transition from winter's heavier scents to summer's lighter, more floral ones. If you are looking to find a new signature scent, a spring fragrance like this one is perfect. Some of my other favorites are the YSL Black Opium, Tom Ford Costa Azzura and Tory Burch Jolie Fleur Lavande.

4) Jergens Tanning Lotion

A lucky few had enough persistence and organization to plan spring break trips to Puerto Vallarta and Cabo and will come back to school with fresh tans. The rest of us will have to fake our tans another way. Jergens tanning lotion is not only a reasonably-priced drugstore staple ($9), but it creates a dewy tans that gets gradually darker over three days, taking away the fear of becoming too orange or too dark.

5) Kiehl’s Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+

“Be sure to wear sunscreen everyday": a phrase uttered by moms and dermatologists everywhere. Even though we all know that sunscreen should be integral part of our skin routine, it is often forgotten. While in the winter months we might be stuck inside or hiding under the hoods of our jackets, it is extremely important leading into the warmer months to find a sunscreen that suits your needs before laying out on the lakefill. This Kiehl’s sunscreen is a universal favorite, largely due to its lightweight, matte finish.
