When I started writing these model posts about a year ago I made it my goal to cover models from all different walks of life. Whether they be male, female, pregnant, or international, I try to run the gamut of races, faces, and overall looks. After all, the models we see in magazines should reflect the diverse definitions of beauty that exist in the world. Recently, however, I discovered that I have yet to cover modeling twins. You’d be surprised to know that there are more twins working in the industry than you’d expect.

My favorite model doppelgangers, however, would have to be Ann and Kirby Kenny. The 18 year olds were born in New Jersey and were discovered in 2009 after sending their pictures to DNA models.  Since walking in their first shows this last Fall 2010 season, the two have become somewhat of a sensation. Already, they’ve worked for big names like Prada, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Celine, Proenza Schouler, and Burberry. Not to mention, they recently posed with Tati Cotliar for Proenza Schouler’s latest campaign.

Despite having to work together on a regular basis and in such a competitive environment, the sisters insist that there are no sibling rivalries between the two. Kirby’s adamant that they have, “never been competitive, so there haven’t been any fist fights or anything, haha” and the two, while different in taste, can’t help finding a common muse in fellow model Natalia Vodianova.

The Kenny sisters may look alike, but the two are as different as their prospective hair colors. Different they may be, but we see equally promising modeling futures for them both. It’s that promise which has us calling them our Model, or should we say models, of the Moment.
