model-momentNot many models can be identified by a single moniker. However, the one’s that do are definitely a big deal. Think Iman, Gisele, and Twiggy. With a name like Jac, it’s seems this Polish beauty is destined for model greatness. Born Monika Jagaciak in 1994, Jac was signed with IMG in 2007. If you’ve done the math, you’ve realized that Jac is just 16 years old! Despite her youth, Jac has a work ethic that most high school juniors would envy. Within her first year signing with IMG she was featured on the cover of French Jalouse magazine, became one of the faces of Hermès (alongside Daria Werbowy), and scored the cover of Japanese Elle. Jac made a huge splash in 2009, opening and closing the Calvin Klein show- an introduction to the runway that made her one of the most talked about newcomers of the year.  She’s carried her runway success into the New Year as one of the top runway models for RTW Fall 2010 New York fashion week. She walked in almost every major show, including Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Rag & Bone, Reed Krakoff, and Oscar de la Renta. Not to mention she opened for Altuzarra, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and closed for Hervé Léger, Ralph Lauren.

I first discovered Jac in an editorial shoot for Teen Vogue in September of 2009 where she was featured as one of fashion’s rising stars. Her stunning face and graceful poses coalesced into stunning photos. Since then she’s become the face of Calvin Klein and graced the pages of Italian Vogue, Numéro, and W. Jac has a look that’s versatile and timeless. Hopefully her youth will translate into a lucrative and long-lasting career. Here’s to hoping she’s not just a “Model of the Moment.”
