Okay, I’ll admit it: Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorite movies. So I was ecstatic to hear that CBS Films will be releasing a modern adaptation of the fairy tale in July. Titled Beastly, the film is based off the book of the same name and has started to generate major online buzz. Leading the cast? Vanessa Hudgens as Linda Taylor and relative newcomer Alex Pettyfer as Kyle Kingson. One look at this guy and you can hear the screaming girls switching from Team Edward to Team Kyle (perhaps there’s room for more than one leading Brit?). As for the movie—which takes place in New York and also stars Mary-Kate Olsen and Neil Patrick Harris—it seems to have all the potential to make it big.
