The Voice is a refreshing change from the boring singing competition shows that are so popular on cable television. While I am a huge fan of the show itself, I have mixed feelings about certain style choices from the contestants and judges alike.
With Christina, it’s a hit or miss. Sometimes she doesn’t look so bad – that Comme des Garçons blazer she wore in a recent episode was adorable. But most of the time the pop superstar is absolutely not wearing what she should be given her age, shape and form. What was she thinking when she wore that awkward spaceship-looking hat during the battle rounds?
I’m always excited to see what outfits Cee Lo comes up with every week. As an extravagant, eccentric person and performer he can pull off the most ridiculous outfits.
I have a feeling the producers definitely have a say in what the contestants wear onstage. Each singer developed a signature style that makes him or her unique. Juliet is the rebel rocker with an edgy look. I want every one of her black and gold ensembles in my closet! Katrina’s voice has been compared to Adele’s but the resemblance can also be seen in her hair, makeup and fashion choices. I was never a big fan of Chessa’s style, but the princess-y dress that she wore in a recent episode was definitely not a favorite. She looked amazing, but the dress just screamed “PROM!” But then we have Erin, the model turned singer that looked flawless episode after episode. Too bad her interesting hairdo and impeccable clothes didn’t save her from being eliminated.
These are just some of my favorites/least favorites from The Voice season 2! Check out the official site for more photos and information.
