Just recently dominating my playlist, Jersey band Real Estate is my latest indie obsession. If Fleet Foxes had a musical love child with My Morning Jacket, the chill, well-synthesized tunes of Real Estate would be the result.
Currently based in Brooklyn, Real Estate released their sophomore full-length album, Days, last October. Filled with layered guitar loops and softly echoed vocals, Days qualifies as quintessential summertime nostalgia. Listening to songs like “Out of Tune” and “Green Aisles,” I can’t help but just kick back with a cup of tea—a perfect remedy for the stress of the imminent finals week.
