Yesterday STITCH attended the IMAGINE Fashion Show, an annual event showcasing the work of students and alumni from the International Academy of Design & Technology. The attendees were stylish, the show was clean, professional, and entertaining, and the production as a whole was all-around phenomenal. Didn’t get a chance to attend? Let us take you on a tour:
Before the event, stylish attendees mixed and mingled around the UIC Forum.

Inside, we spotted event T-shirts and mannequin fixtures while noshing on complimentary cake pops.
The UIC Forum began filling up with excited guests as showtime grew closer.
Val Warner, a Chicagoland news anchor (check our her new show in Oprah’s timeslot!), warmly welcomed all the designers and acknowledged the sponsors.
The show opened with my favourite set of outfits, a gorgeously orchestrated collection of coats highlighted with surprisingly not-gimmicky sound and light effects simulating rain.
The event’s featured performer, Kristinia DeBarge, performed her first song of the evening.
The runway looks continued with a dramatic opening.
A section called Fur-Less Leaders showed that it doesn’t have to be real to be stylish.
Kristinia DeBarge made another apperance, this time accompanying the display of a series of gorgeous evening ensembles.
Summer-ready swimwear made an appearance on the runway — but these weren’t just your ordinary bikinis.
These dramatic looks garnered a lot of audience applause.
A breathtaking tribute entitled ‘God Save McQueen’ featured pieces inspired by the late designer and a smoke-filled simulation of his famous Kate Moss hologram.
The show closed with audience members rocking out to Kristina DeBarge’s appropriately titled hit, ‘Goodbye.’
Thanks for a fabulous time, International Academy of Design and Technology!
