When I first heard about the Hermés and Chanel bicycles, at $3,500 and $17,000 respectively, I was absolutely shocked. After watching a variety of Real Housewives series and peeking into the celebrity and socialite world through the occasional tabloid or gossip site visit, however, I’ve realized that there are actually a number of people who might be inclined to own one.

The new Kate Spade bike, however? Not so much. It’s an adorable shade of green and boasts a number of cute and functional features, but I’m finding it difficult to think of someone that would actually stroll into a Kate Spade store and leave with a bike. In my mind, the ideal Kate Spade girl is charming, quirky, and girly, and would ride around to her flea market and vintage bookstore visits on a unique vintage bike or hand-me-down, rather than a shiny new designer bike complete with gold embossed logo.

That’s just one avid Kate Spade fan’s opinion, though. What do you think — does the Kate Spade bike have an audience? Or is it appealing to a group of people who just won’t want it?
