Serbian model, Andrej Pejic recently made my list of models to watch when I came across his photos in the latest Vogue Turkey editorial. No I haven’t confused my pronouns and yes, I too was shocked and Ru-Pauled (tasteless tranny joke) when I realized the Kate Moss look-a-like was in fact a 19-year-old teenage boy. Discovered just last year, Pejic has made waves in the industry as the androgynous model du jour. His unique look as caught the attention of photographers like Steven Meisel, Mert Alas, and Marcus Piggott and he recently made his runway debut walking in the Spring 2011 show of the always-eccentric Jean Paul Gaultier. Most notably he’s become the muse of designer Marc Jacob, starring in his Marc by Marc Jacobs spring campaign along-side fellow model Ginta Lapina.

In editorials he’s known for modeling both women’s and men’s clothing and he’s frequently photographed wearing makeup and heels when off-duty. Despite this, Pejic refuses to confirm his sexual preference and insists that his sexuality should play no role in his modeling career. We could care less about his gender identity. He’s mixing things up and for that he’s our Model of the Moment.
